Fun “Jack & Jill” Competition Results

 

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to all who participated in WEST COAST SWING WEDNESDAYS 2^nd Year Anniversary Party celebrations, whether it be joining in the Fun WCS “Jack & Jill” comp, or just enjoying the social side of the event. It was a resounding success with a massive 54 entrants in the comp (that’s 10 more than last year), and a full house of spectators. We were positively bursting at the seams! Paul & I were very proud. Special thanks go to the following for all their help and support in making this night a success;

Lastly a very special thank you to someone without whose support the night would have been sorely lacking. It was a terrible oversight on my part not to publicly acknowledge and thank this person for their contribution as teacher, judge, performer and host on the night. His role in the growth of WCS in the UK is immeasurable, his natural gift for dance an inspiration to many, his personal development as a WCS dancer a true achievement. In 2006, we made a special presentation to two dancers (one male, one female) that we considered to have made the most progress at WEST COAST SWING WEDNESDAYS over our 1^st year. This year we decided to do the same and award two new most improved dancers. Congratulations to you both and thank you for your effort and support;

 

Most Improved Female:      Christine Chen          

Most Improved Male:           Gerry Burke

 

This year we also introduced a new award, voted by you, the attendees. Our regulars were invited to secretly nominate their favourite female and male WCS dancers from their peer group. Congratulations to the following for being so fabulously popular;

 

Favourite Female:                  Sheila Macdonald (with 27% of the votes)

Favourite Male:                       Kevin Flynn (with 31% of the votes)
